What kind of computer do I need to have to use this site?The general site should work on most modern computers (less than 4 years old). We do recommend that you use Microsoft Internet Explorer. You will also need these browser plugins to make full use of this site: Adobe PDF Reader (download) To participate in Live Linkup meetings, you will need to install special software for Internet Explorer. (It will not work in other browsers). We urge you to install the software well in advance of the first Linkup. You may use a webcam if you know how, but that's entirely optional. You may need the help of your Computer Responsible Person to install any of this software. How do I log in?To log in, click the "My Account" link to the lower-left of most pages. You will be taken to form where you enter your username and password. Click here to log in now. (If you are already logged in, you will instead have the opportunity to change your username and password.) You need to have an account to be able to log in. See the next question. How do I create an account?If you do not already have an account, you can create one from the login page by clicking on the "Create new account" link. I forgot my password. What do I do now?Click the "My Account" link. On the next page you'll see a link, "I forgot my password." Click that link, and you will see a page with a form. Type in your email address (probably the one you use for work) and click "recover." The website will send you your account information. How do I access my online courses?From the Legal Aid University homepage, click "My Courses" from the left-hand navigation bar. Or just click here. How do I use your online videos?Most of our video resources are encoded in the Flash format. You will need to install the Flash Player (also known as "Shockwave") to view them. Download and install Flash Player You will need speakers to listen to the audio. We also recommend a fast Internet connection because many of the files are rather large. (We will mail CD-ROM versions of really large files to you when necessary). |
